In F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel The Great Gatsby, the roaring twenties are alive and well in Long Island, New York. The novel’s main character Jay Gatsby, a wealthy millionaire, is beyond dapper. With his beginnings, humble or not, Gatsby manages to move himself into the upper echelon of New York society. His lavish parties become well known among the elite and his style, well, Fitzgerald paints it as only the best money can buy.
With the upcoming film adaptation of the novel by Baz Luhrmann, I found it fitting to feature Lafont for their optical wears that pay homage to one of the greatest American classic novels as well as to one of the most memorable fictional characters of literature. Lafont has created a style of sunglasses named the “Leo” and a style of eyeglasses named “Gatsby” to celebrate the novel’s classic sophistication.
